Have You Considered an Eco Friendly Product Like a Home Water Purifier?

If you are looking for a truly eco friendly product, you might want to consider a home water purifier.  If you already have one, you should read this article, anyway.  Some of them are not really friendly products.

Recently, a company released what they called a maintenance-free purifier.  A more accurate term would have been disposable.  For those of us that are looking for an friendly product, something that ends up in the landfill after six weeks of use is not what we want.

Most purifiers are friendly products, because people that use them buy less bottled water, which reduces the number of plastic bottles in the landfill and helps to protect one of our most precious natural resources; fresh water.

Our freshwater supplies are not endless, although they may seem to be so, as the planet is mostly water.  The problem is that most of it is saltwater, which cannot be used for drinking or watering crops, without sodium removal.  Many coastal areas have seen the intrusion of saltwater into what was, within the last few decades, freshwater.

Some purifiers, like the one mentioned above are not eco friendly products, but it is not just the disposable ones.  The pitcher types seem inexpensive to many people, initially.  They seem like a good alternative to buying bottled.  But, the filters in the pitchers must be replaced too often.  Most of them are good for only 50 gallons, which would last a family of four less than six weeks, on the average.

Again, there is just too much stuff going in the landfill.  A truly eco friendly product should create very little garbage.  The better home purifiers have filters that last for about six months.  The filters are small enough so that they create no guilt when they are going in the garbage and you will know that you have accomplished something else.

How would you feel about eco friendly products that help clean up some of the contaminants that are present in our lakes, rivers and oceans?  Effective home purifiers can do a great deal more than any treatment facility can do.  If you don’t have one in your home, you are allowing contaminants to run back into our freshwater supplies through your sewers.  You are increasing the burden on the wastewater treatment facilities.

But, if you have an eco friendly product, an effective home purifier, you reduce the burden on the facility and remove chemicals that none of us want to be exposed to.  You also remove lead, copper and the traces of prescription drugs that elude public facilities.

Other eco friendly products include reusable glass or stainless steel bottles that can be filled at home, stored in the fridge and carried with you wherever you go.  Besides the fact that you have stopped a plastic bottle from going into the trash, water simply tastes better when it is not stored in plastic.  It’s the only “tasty” eco friendly product that I’ve seen.Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Gordon_P_Hall
